"I can't give definite answers, I'm from Boston!"
-- Dorothy Simple, The Case of the Crushed Petunias
Walking tour and performance
The key to this year’s theme, The Case of the Crushed Petunias is a short relatively unkown play by Tennessee Williams written in 1941. Set in Primandproper, Massachusetts, a salesman for “Life Incorporated” tries to convince a restless Cape Cod notions clerk to dance on the village green. Directed by local favorite, Patrick Falco (The Goat / Take Me Out), and featuring local Provincetown actors, the play wrestles with life’s big questions in a tidy, poetic package.
Preceding the play, town historian and former Selectman Richard Olson will conduct a tour of sites connected to the history of Provincetown during World War II. Expect some surprises along the way courtesy of director/authors and of CTEK Arts. The hour-long tour ends at a storefront where “Petunias” will be performed.
(The show must go on, so in case of rain, bring your umbrella & slicker!)
